The program of Electrical and Computer Engineering gives opportunity to learn core subjects of Electrical Engineering and also provides opportunity to develop programming skills of Computer Engineering. The program Electrical and Computer Engineering is designed to cater the present needs of power sector, industrial automation and IT industries. The objective of the program is to provide opportunities to the students to select his/her career by developing multi-disciplinary skills. Besides the various elective courses in Electrical and Computer Engineering, students are exposed to other courses of Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering. Electrical Engineering Department always strives to provide comprehensive learning experience to the students for their overall development.

With the help of well-equipped laboratories & advance instruments, students get hands on exposure to latest technology and practical knowledge. The team work capabilities in students are developed by conducting group activities like mini and major projects and to cope up with the advancement in the field of Electrical and Computer Engineering, various guest lectures, seminars & workshop are organized.

Program Outline

The Bachelor of Technology in Electrical and Computer Engineering degree program is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and offers Choice Based Credit System education. The program focuses on technical aspects of Electrical and Computer Engineering & offers ample opportunities to students to opt for multidisciplinary courses for professional development. The program aims to impart quality technical education with professional and leadership skills required to pursue a successful career.

This program is uniquely designed to enhance the employability of students and to prepare them to work in a multidisciplinary environment.

To provoke independent thoughts in students and importance of team work, program also gives emphasis on Outcome Based Education (OBE), design thinking process and collaborative education component involving Guest lectures, Projects, Seminars, Internships and Activity Based Learning (ABL).

Multidisciplinary skilled engineers have always contributed to improve standards of living of the society in India and abroad. Hence after completion of this program, students will be very competent to serve in IT sector, core industries, service sector and government organizations.

Program Structure

Workshop on Programmable Logic Controller

Department of Electrical Engineering organized the workshop on ‘Programmable Logic Controller’ for Final Year Diploma Students. The workshop was conducted by department faculty members. As a social outreach activity of the department, no registration fee was charged from the participants. The workshop was held on dt. 24th and dt.25th May 2021 from 10:00AM to 05:30PM. More than two hundred & twenty students participated in the workshop. All participants were awarded by an E-Certificate.

Talent Hunt Quiz for 12 th Students

Department of Electrical Engineering organized the Quiz Competition for 12th Science & engineering aspirant students on Date 24th May 2021. Physics and Mathematics Skills were tested using MS Teams online platform. No registration fee was charged from the participants. This activity shall definitely help the students to enhance their performance in engineering entrance examinations. Fifty three students participated in this quiz. All successful participants were awarded by an E-Certificate.

Talent Hunt Quiz for Final Year Diploma Students

Department of Electrical Engineering organized the Quiz Competition for Final Year Diploma Students on Date.29th May 2021. Aptitude Skills were tested using MS Teams online platform. No registration fee was charged from the participants. Aptitude Skills enhancement is necessary for getting placements in MNC's. One hundred &sixty six students participated in this quiz. All successful candidates were awarded by an E-Certificate.

Workshop on Industrial Automation

Department of Electrical Engineering organized the workshop on “Industrial Automation” for Final Year Diploma Students. The workshop was conducted by department faculty members. As a social outreach activity of the department, no registration fee was charged from the participants. The workshop was held on 20 th May 2021 from 10:00AM to 05:30PM. More than 247 students participated in the workshop. Positive feedback from the participants was motivating factor to organize such events in future.

IoT Workshop

Department of electrical engineering has organized the workshop on “Internet of Things using ARDUINO” for Degree and Diploma Students. The workshop was entirely conducted by department faculty members. The workshop was held on 03rd, 04th, 05th December 2020, timings from 02:00PM to 05:30PM. More than 70 students had shown interest in attending the workshop and out of that 33 students successfully completed the workshop registration. Diploma, UG and PG Students registered for the workshop from different institute including MGM’s JNEC Aurangabad, MGM Polytechnic Aurangabad, Shree Sai College of Engineering, Aurangabad, MIT Engineering, Aurangabad, MIT Polytechnic Aurangabad, Working Professionals.

Induction program for first year Students.

A Seventeen Days Induction program was conducted in the department for newly admitted first year students. The program was conducted by Mr.Madhuresh Sontakke, Ms. Kanika Chitnavis. The key objective of the program was to get students acquainted with the institution and cultivate human values in them. In this program various activities were conducted for students like sports, craft, creative work, awareness sessions and guest lectures on various technical and non-technical topics.

FDP – Workshop on Industrial Automation

A Five days Short Faculty development program on Industrial Automation was conducted in Electrical Department. To cope up with the upcoming challenges and to enhance the practical approach of the faculty members this program was introduce. In this program Faculty members get exposed with the simulation software Codesys and hands on training on the PLC. At the end along with the trainer faculty members have design a model of small bottle filling plant and program it.

Fluke Instrument Demonstration& Hands-on Training:

Technical Representatives from Fluke gave hands on training to all participated faculty members on dedicated power quality monitoring instruments like Power Analyzer, Thermal Imaging Camera, Clamp Meter, Multimeter etc. All the instruments were tested at the Power Distribution board near Electrical Engineering Department.

Departmental Alumni Meet

Alumni Meet was held on 8th November 2019 in the department and 25th January 2020 in college where ALUMNI of the electrical engineering gathered in the department and share their experiences. Prof. B.T.Deshmukh felicitate all alumni and invite them to be part of MGM university in curriculum design and other activities.

Guest Lectures & Seminars

Knowledge sharing, industry experience, live project experiences are helpful for students to get employable. Guest lecture/seminar plays vital role for overall grooming of students. Eminient personalities from society guide students for technical, non technical and personal aspects. Students enjoys the session organized by the department. The interactive sessions help students for enhancing the personal, managerial and practical skills.

Industrial Visit:

Industrial visit provides inside view of industries and live projects. It provides practical exposure to the student that how work is carried out in industry?, how practical problems are solved in industry? etc. Student avails this opportunity to interact with industry persona. Department is arranging Industrial visits for students to familiar with industry culture of NRSC-ISRO, Power Generation stations, Transmission Substation, Manufacturing and services and Automation.

The safety measures, insurance, undertaking procedures are followed as per AICTE norms.
